Well, its not gone well. The project as it stands is a complete failure. There has been no difference in web stats (in fact they are below average for a weekend). There are/were 3 vehicles out there over the weekend with the tag, zip interest was created!
Now those of you that have read and digested the Stage 2 article in this series will know that I have created a formula for the amount of interest that I SHOULD generate from such trips as this one.
Working on this current formula I SHOULD have got 330 views of the phrase, working on the 1.375 views per mile formula. Instead I got a grand total of zero! Why is this, I hear you cry! And I'm afraid the answer is pretty simple, not everyone can be bothered to go to a website that is written on the back/side/part of a moving vehicle that is on a motorway. Firstly they are in the wrong place to GO TO the website or even Write it down, I really don't want to be responsible for numerous car accidents as people attempt to connect to my website with their PDA or reach for a pen and paper to write it down, all I'm asking them to do is remember the phrase, dirty van project type that in to Google and those first couple of results will link straight to this site.
So for now we play the waiting game, sit back and hope that people begin to take an interest? NOPE! I'm going out there and I'm going to tag as many dirty vans/cars/lorrys/buses/bikes/tractors anything, anything that has wheels, goes on roads and is dirty! We can not move onto Stage 3 untill I have a signifcant number of "taggers" out there in the world. So if you are reading this, you either know me, or you've seen the JonPearson.co.uk dirty van project tag somewhere. Lets tag somemore!
Get out there my loveley "taggers", tag like you've never tagged before!
Thank You.
Jon Pearson
