Telling IT the way IT is!

Thundercats Vs He-Man

Its the sort of question that gets thrown around the office on a near weekly basis, who would win in a fight, Jon Vs Rich or Drawing Office Vs IT Office. But then it got to what some people would see as a "silly level", it got to fictional, animated characters. This can all be blamed on one person and one person only (in my life anyway), my girlfriend Nicola. It all stems from her favourite question in the world, "Who would win in a fight, Orvil the Duck Vs 4 real ducks?" This may seem to most to be a relatively strange question but when I first heard it, not only did it burst my bubble that Orvil was not indeed a real duck, he was just a puppet but it also got me thinking of all the strategys that the two partys would adopt if such a ruckus was to occur.

ANYWAY

You can read more about the duck fight on my other post, now back to the real battle, Thundercats Vs He-Man!

I think its best that I set a scene, this is not to be a battle between ALL the Thundercats against one lonley Adam, Prince of Eternia, for that would be grossly unfair. This battle is to be between all GOOD guys from the Thundercats series against all the GOOD guys in the He-Man series. Now the battle can be drawn out in many ways but this is the way that I invisage things happening.
Taking from this post we'll line the guys up in the following fights:

He-Man Vs Lion
Man at Arms Vs Panthro
Man-E-Faces Vs Tygra
Battle cat Vs Snarf

The Fight

Man at Arms Vs Panthro, again this would be one of the bigger fights that would take place. Both men/cat being the elder ones from their respected groups: Panthro is a expert with battle sticks and don't forget that those battle sticks can contain what ever he puts in them. Man at Arms on the other hand is also a skilled soldier and an inventor, leading me to think that this fight may be abit of a stalemate, but as a cat does panthro not get nine lives? giving him a slight advantage? We'll leave this one at a stale mate!
Man-E-Faces Vs Tygra, This fight is a basic non-starter, Man-E-Faces, although he does indeed have MANY faces, he is (in the 80's cartoon) an actor for the Royal court, thus making him easy pray for a skilled fighter such as Tygra as he has an exploding whip AND he can become invisible! Job done, no more Mr. Man-E-Faces!
Battle Cat Vs Snarf. All depending on the form that Battle Cat will take, but for arguments sake and seeing as He-Man is going onto battle, battle cat will be battle cat rather than Cringer (the wipering, scared, overeating useless pet of Adam). Snarf was a nursemaid to Liono when he was younger and this is a reason why he is still around, he still feels like he should protect Liono even though Liono is now a fully grown man (but not mentally apparently). So in this case, battel cat would win out, seeing as snarf hasn't from what i remember ever been in a fight.
He-Man Vs Liono. The obvious Liono Vs He-Man battle would be the end point (if it were to be a Hollywood blockbuster, which I doubt). But the bigger question is , would they be allowed their weapons? This would surely pose a huge dilma for both partys as both of them tend to draw their power from their individual swords. I am yet to see a thundercats or a he-man episode in which they didnt "eventually" manage to reach for their swords and say the magic words "Give me sight beyond........I HAVE THE POWER!" or something like that. If anyone has a episode that does not involve them using their powers I am more than willing to view it, and if the makers of the Thundercats DVD's fancy sending me any free stuff to review I'll be more than happy to do that aswell.

He-Man.org

Surprisingly He-Man.org suggests that the He-Man charcters would win out against the thundercats, and of course they are entitled to their views. However I still feel that Thndercats, with their special powers and Cat like attributes would be able to outwit (when together) most fictional heros from mos tof the other cartoons that are withinthe genre.
You will have noticed that I have left Cheetara and WillyKit and WillyKat out of the fight, mainly because Cheetara is proper fit (I dont care what people say, she was awesome) and the twins didn't tend to do much of the fighting, just the annoying of people!
In my own view I don't really think there would be an absolute winner in this battle, you could argue the powers of each character all day but in the end the powers will always cancel eachother out and then you would just be left with a stale mate anyway! I enjoyed Thundercats more than He-Man so I think they'd win, but that just because I liked that programme more. Lets not argue, lets just be happy that our childhood where spent watching such decent shows as these, and not the pap that there is on telly now. Bothe He-Man and Thundercats would smash the living hell out of the current "heros" they have on TV now!
